Welcome to Jacket’s Required, hello, I’m Dominic Lacquaniti, designer and tailor.
This week’s episode of Jackets required TV is about WHEN you should wear a tie and when it’s okay not to.
If you’re heading to a big event like a wedding, baptism or bah mitvah it’s a safe bet to show up in a tie, it denotes respect and a bit more of a formal occasion.
If you are going on a big corporate job interview – tie up! Dress to impress. It’s as simple as that.
Lastly if you are heading out to a fine dining establishment, more than 1 course with a great chef then it is recommended that you step up your appearance and don a nice tie.
Of course other special events such as the theater or opera always call for a bit of formal pizazz but I think that almost goes without saying.
If you have a specific event coming up that you’re wondering – do I or don’t I? – stop in and ask me. I’m happy to show you some options that can run the gamut from formality to just plain fun.
Share with your stylish, and style-challenged friends, and be sure to let me know if you have a specific question or topic you’d like to see in the series.
Thanks for watching. See you next week. Remember, looking good is between you and your tailor…
