Welcome to Jacket’s Required, hello, I’m Dominic Lacquaniti, designer and tailor.
On this week’s episode of Jackets required TV I’m going to discuss creating your own style, by the numbers of course.
So the first thing to consider when creating your own style is, what do you love? Do you love bright colors, fun floral patterns or do you prefer dark solids? It is important to consider what you will feel best wearing before you start to create your own style.
Secondly, It’s always great to think of, and create, a signature piece that can carry through various outfits so that it becomes your personal signature.
Think of this in regard to a man who always wears perfectly tailored suits with bold colored dress shirts or possibly a fun pocket square. Or the woman who always has on the most elegant scarves.
These are signature pieces that can carry throughout different looks but always make a statement about YOU. It’s something different and something memorable.
There are basics to any wardrobe – crisp white dress shirts, a dark tailored blazer, dark neat jeans and so on. These are the basics that you can build upon, what you add to them is what creates your style.
Are you a 60’s child who still has that carefree nature at heart? Or a powerhouse business-person who always wants to look on point and impressive no matter where you are?
There are different elements that you can incorporate to any look that will echo your personal style and help you stand out from the crowd.
Creating your own style isn’t always easy but that’s where I come in. I will sit with you and help you determine what things are key to who you are and what you want to portray. Then I’ll help you create a one of a kind, custom style that will really resonate with you.
One of the best things about creating your own style is that it will communicate to others who you are – without you ever saying a word.
Be the boss of your wardrobe, of your life – it all starts with your LOOK.
I hope you enjoyed this weeks’ episode!
